Classic. Chic. Unique. Your Dress Should be all Three | BoostBC Local Spotlight
From redesign and upcycle, to custom design and alterations, Aimee at Xoxo Couture is committed to making every bride feel beautiful, confident and unique on their special day. What started as a love for drawing gowns, blossomed into a love for creating one of a kind artistic pieces that cannot be found in your traditional bridal store.
Aimee started out designing outfits and accessories for kids about 12 years ago, as a way to work from home and be with her daughter. Eventually, a friend asked her to design a veil and things took off from there. She embraced the challenge and launched a bridal business expanding to to veils, garters, hair pieces, belts, and custom bouquets. In 2021, Aimee ventured into alterations and has spent the last 5 years transforming thrifted and vintage dresses into beautiful creations of her own.
Finding used gowns as base models, Aimee lets her artistic instincts flow, basing her projects on the pieces she finds and the materials she sources. She does not usually start with a end product in mind, and creates brand new pieces out of the parts of the original she chooses to keep. "I love unique items and creating pieces you can't find at a traditional bridal shop." - Aimee Erickson.
Reworking and reusing dresses is not only a creative outlet, but a meaningful way for Aimee to reduce waste and honor the planet. Each dress carries it's own history and it's own story, Aimee thoughtfully transforms these pieces into something new without losing their essence. Blending modern design and sustainable practices, she not only creates beautiful pieces, but one of a kind creations ready to tell your story.
Xoxo Couture is located in West Kelowna, and Aimee loves being in the Okanagan with all the beautiful options for weddings of all different styles.
