Meet the Hands Behind the Healing at Momentum by BoostBC

When life feels tense, your body doesn’t have to carry it alone. Meet the hands behind the healing at Momentum.

Amanda is a local Registered Massage Therapist who believes massage is more than relaxation, it’s a way to reconnect with your body and support real, lasting wellness. With a personalized, down-to-earth approach, she helps clients ease pain, reduce stress, and feel more at home in their bodies.

Amanda doesn’t believe there’s one specific technique that makes clients feel safe or understood-she believes it starts with genuinely caring. She knows that the people who make us feel most seen are rarely professionals, but those who truly take the time to know us, and that’s the approach she brings into her practice. Amanda makes it a priority to understand each client as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms, while always maintaining thoughtful professional boundaries. Whether someone needs simple symptom relief or support toward a long-term goal, her focus remains the same: the treatment is always about what the client needs in that moment, allowing a natural and meaningful healing connection to form.

There are many ways to relief and heal with massage and when asked how do you decide between a slower style or a deeper style, Amanda said "Why not both? For starters, I will always ask what kind of pressure you prefer, not what you think will get you “better” results because it’s incredibly nuanced from person-to-person and it’s my job to take your requests, read how your body responds, and adapt to every treatment individually". Amanda works with clients who love deeply intense pressure and many who prefer something much gentler and she believes there’s room for both. By moving slowly and intentionally, even the deepest work can feel safe enough for clients to fully relax. She believes that when the mind and body are given permission to slow down, even briefly, something meaningful begins to happen. That small pause, regardless of pressure or pace, is where true relief and connection often take shape.

During her training, Amanda worked with a patient she has never forgotten a vibrant, resilient woman who had survived a stroke years earlier and rebuilt nearly all of her physical abilities, yet continued to live with severe chronic pain. That pain had taken her away from the activities that once gave her joy. After just one treatment, the patient returned the following week and shared that for the first time in nine years, she had been able to swim, walk, and move without pain. The impact of that moment stayed with Amanda deeply, serving as a powerful reminder of why this work matters so much to her.

Amanda is also no stranger to first time patients who maybe have never had any sort of massage therapy. She encourages her patients to resinate with somethings before booking. She encourages clients to let go of the outdated “no pain, no gain” mindset, as it no longer aligns with current research in manual therapy. While she can feel where tension lives in the body, she believes clients are the experts on how it feels for them, which is why open communication about pressure and comfort is essential. Like any form of therapy, meaningful results may take time, and Amanda believes trusting the process is an important part of healing.

Amanda hopes that everyone who leaves her table feels genuinely cared for. She believes that sense of warmth and ease comes from a nervous system that feels safe and supported.
