Where Neighbours Help Neighbours: Inside Bibidi by BoostBC
Imagine a neighbourhood where everyone knows your name, help is just next door, and asking for support feels easy and natural. That is why Tiffani and the Bibidi team created such a service. Bibidi was created to bring back that Sesame Street-style sense of community, where real people look out for one another and everyone has something to offer.

Powered by people, not algorithms, Bibidi is built for everyone from students, retirees, parents, and tradespeople alike bonus no tech expertise required. Whether you’re looking for a hand or offering one, Bibidi makes it simple to connect, and if you’d rather not navigate an app alone, you can even call and the team will come help you get set up. It’s all about reconnecting neighbours and making help feel human again.
Bibidi was born from real life, lived right in the neighbourhood. The idea grew out of the everyday juggle many families face like raising young kids, running a business, and trying to find reliable local help when Facebook posts disappear and messages go unanswered. At the same time, the founders were experiencing the other side of the problem too, running a service business and spending just as much time managing bookings and chasing invoices as they did doing the work itself.

Conversations with neighbours quickly showed they weren’t alone as more and more people are relying on flexible, local work, but being found can feel overwhelming and expensive. As Tiffani stated “ The goal is to make local help easy to find and local work easier to sustain. It keeps things simple, trusted, and human so neighbours can support neighbours and people can build income without burning out.”
Bibidi was created to make those connections easier.
Bibidi is designed to bring back that warm welcoming neighbourhood feeling, where help comes from real people just around the corner. It’s people-powered and thoughtfully built so anyone such as students, retirees, parents, and tradespeople can find or offer help. Users can set their own service range, making it easy to keep connections as close to home as they’d like, whether that’s down the street or across the neighbourhood.

For the Bibidi teamSafety and trust are very imperative, as Tiffani says “ Safety and trust are central to bibidi. Profiles and reviews mean no one is anonymous, your reputation lives where you live. People that hire review, but the service worker gets to review who they hired as well! We’re also building Trust Boost badges, giving service providers the option to verify ID, complete criminal record checks, and showcase credentials, from babysitting certificates to Red Seal trades.” Bibidi makes sure of this starting with real profiles, two-way reviews, and optional Trust Boost badges that allow service providers to verify ID, credentials, and background checks. Supporting it all is Bibidi’s friendly Offline Team real people who show up at community events, offer one-on-one help, and make sure everyone feels confident and welcome connecting and using the app.
Right now, the Bibidi team is busy meeting local service providers and getting the app ready, while an early sign-up form helps neighbours share what kind of help they’re looking for. The requests already coming in highlight just how much everyday support people need, from childcare and yard cleanups to small home projects, pet care, and even help picking up a couch.
Bibidi gives local workers everything they need in one friendly, easy-to-use place; tools to be found, booked, reviewed, and paid without the usual overhead or hassle. Instead of juggling marketing, scheduling, and invoicing, service providers can focus on their work while Bibidi handles the rest.

Bibidi stands on “ Our marketing is also built around the people, not the platform.” As the platform rolls out this winter and spring, the team will even go door to door to personally connect providers with the communities they serve.
What the future holds for Bibidi is endless. The Team says “ Our vision is to build the most useful platform possible by continuously listening to and iterating around the real needs of the people who use it.” Expansion will be intentional and community-led, with new locations opening only where neighbours ask for it, while the focus remains on getting things right at home first.

Wherever Bibidi goes, the approach stays the same: a people-powered presence with real humans, local ambassadors, and face-to-face connections that strengthen neighbourhoods. For those who want to be part of that growth, getting involved is easy: service providers can sign up on the app, and curious supporters can follow along on social media (Facebook and Instagram) to stay connected to the stories, updates, and communities taking shape.
