There’s something special about the way certain photographers capture the quiet magic of family life. Today we’re spotlighting a lovely local photographer whose maternity and family sessions beautifully preserve those fleeting, joy-filled moments.
How does one get into capturing such precious moments? Well Carlee was drawn to the beauty of genuine connection and the quiet, fleeting moments that tell a bigger story, she first picked up a camera simply to capture memories of her own life and family. What began as a way to document everyday moments soon grew into a passion for preserving those meaningful stages for others, too.
For her, maternity and family photography holds a special kind of magic; filled with love, anticipation, and the legacy of family. Through her work, she strives to create images that don’t just look beautiful, but feel like memories you can step right back into. As Carlee states " I realized how deeply meaningful it was to preserve those stages of life for others, too".
Working so closely with so many clients allows Carlee to share so many beautiful moments in her career. One pivotal moment came after a session with a new mom who shared with Carlee that seeing her photos helped her feel beautiful and strong at a time when she didn’t quite feel like herself. That experience reinforced for her just how powerful photography can be, inspiring her to focus on creating warm, relaxed sessions.
For Carlee, photography has never been just about taking pictures , it’s about capturing a chapter in someone’s story.
She’s always watching for the little in-between moments: the laughter that bubbles up unexpectedly, the quiet glances that say everything, and even the beautiful chaos that makes every family uniquely theirs.
Creating a relaxed space where clients can feel comfortable, confident, and completely themselves in front of the camera. Carlee is especially thoughtful during newborn and maternity sessions, focusing on a calm, safe environment where families feel supported and cared for. Sessions are relaxed, lightly guided, and designed to feel easy and natural. With a timeless editing style that keeps images looking authentic for years to come.
What truly sets her apart, though, is how much she cares about the people in front of her camera. She wants every client to feel seen, celebrated, and completely at ease the entire time. Carlee states "Each season tells a different part of a family’s story, and clients are really valuing the idea of documenting their lives more intentionally". From the excitement of expecting a new baby to the tender, fleeting days of newborn life and the lively rhythm of family life, these seasons pass far too quickly. Carlee believes those moments deserve to be remembered.
With Spring approaching Carlee has lots on the table, She’s currently planning to release a set of motherhood mini sessions along with spring family sessions, perfectly timed for when the yellow flowers begin blooming in May ; a season that feels full of fresh beginnings.
