How Local Businesses Can Get More Google Reviews | BoostBC

Often, when we hear someone say they are going to leave a review, our first thought is it will be a negative one. For those of us who grew up in the 90's, Yelp was the ultimate threat. However, today we live in a new age, and reviews are not only a positive thing, but are very important in moving your business higher up the Google search page.
Reviews, both positive and negative, increase your digital footprint, making it easier for local customers to find you. It is important to keep these reviews coming in and to keep up the replies to each one you get. Here are a few ways you can increase the number of reviews you get on Google.
Encourage Every Customer to Leave a Review. You want to make sure every customer is asked to leave a review, not just the best interactions. As each customer leaves, or via email later, ask each one to please leave a review.

Make it Easy. When you are asking customers to leave a review, you want to make sure it is as easy as possible for them. Sharing a direct link via SMS or Email is a great option.
Create a QR Code. For customers that are not sharing an email or SMS number, you still want to make it an easy task to leave a review. Create a QR code that can be placed throughout the storefront and on your website.
Respond to Every Review. If clients see that you are active and actually see the reviews they post, they are more likely to leave one. This increases the activity on your page and connects you with the customers beyond the transaction.
It is important to remember that not every review will be positive, it is important that you respond to these comments professionally. Try to learn from these rather than see them as simply negative. All reviews still bring attention to your page, and your business. The important part is what kind of response people will see from you to these negative comments.

At the end of the day, customer experience is a top priority, and keeping up your online presence is a major part of that. Customers who feel their reviews are heard and matter are more likely to post one, and the easier that is for them, the better. Follow BoostBC for more tips for growing your local business.
