If you're planning to walk, run, or cycle through the Mill Creek area this week, you'll need to take an alternate route. Angel Way, between Parkinson Way and the Okanagan Rail Trail, is temporarily closed to cyclists and pedestrians from Monday, June 15 through Friday, June 19.

The temporary closure is necessary to allow crews to safely complete important work associated with the ongoing Mill Creek revitalization project. While closures can be inconvenient, they play a critical role in ensuring both public safety and the efficient completion of construction activities.

The Mill Creek revitalization project is part of the City of Kelowna's broader efforts to enhance community infrastructure, improve environmental sustainability, and create resilient public spaces that can be enjoyed for generations to come. As construction progresses, certain access restrictions are unavoidable to provide workers with the space they need to operate equipment, complete installations, and maintain safe working conditions.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to follow all posted signage and avoid entering active construction zones. These safety measures are designed to protect everyone in the area while helping the project stay on schedule.

Projects like this may cause short-term disruptions, but they contribute to long-term improvements that benefit the entire community. The Mill Creek revitalization work is expected to support environmental restoration efforts, improve surrounding public spaces, and enhance the overall experience for those who live, work, and play in the area.

The City of Kelowna and onsite crews appreciate the public's patience and cooperation while this work is underway. By respecting closures and detours, community members help ensure the project can be completed safely, efficiently, and without unnecessary delays.

This work forms part of the City's Building a Stronger Kelowna portfolio of projects, which focuses on investing in critical infrastructure and community improvements to support Kelowna's continued growth. As construction continues throughout the city, residents can expect to see ongoing investments aimed at creating a stronger, more connected, and more sustainable future for everyone.
